Surah Fatiha is the Opening chapter of the Qur'an. Its seven verses (āyāt) are a prayer for the guidance, lordship, and mercy of Allah. 
 
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ called Surah Fatiha "the greatest Surah in the Qur'an," he called them the "seven oft-repeated verses." It is also referred to in the hadith as Umm Al-Kitab "the Mother of the Book," which shows it's importance and special place in the Qur'an. 
 
Surah Fatiha translates as:
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds
the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Master of the Day of Judgment
You Alone we worship, and you Alone we ask for help
Guide us to the straight path
the path of those You have blessed; not of those who have incurred Your wrath, nor of those who have gone astray.
