The Shahadah is the Testification of Faith in Islam. It is to believe that "There is no god but God, and that Muhammad ﷺ is the Messenger of God." 
 
It is the first and most important of the five pillars of Islam, declaring belief in the oneness (tawhid) of God and the acceptance of Muhammad ﷺ as God's last Prophet. 
 
The Shahadah is said in the adhan, the call to prayer; it is whispered by the father into the ear of a newborn child, it is whispered into the ear of a dying person; it is recited in the five daily prayers, and it is recited in front of witnesses when a person accepts Islam. 
 
There are many hadith which mention the Shahadah. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "Whoever says there is no god but Allah enters Paradise."
