This is the Ayat al-Kursi, or Verse of the Throne, written in Thuluth Arabic. It is verse 255 from the second chapter of the Qur'an. It begins:

"Allah – there is no god except Him, the Ever-Living, the Eternal.

Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep.

To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth....." (2:255)

The top layer of Arabic is hand-written in gold calligraphy on a dark-green background. The verse ends with a floral motif.

When the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ asked which verse in the Qur'an was the greatest, Ubayy ibn Ka’b (r) answered that it was the Ayat al-Kursi.  The Prophet ﷺ then tapped his chest (affectionately) and said, “May you be congratulated on your knowledge.” (Sahih Muslim)
